MYCOTEX by NEFFA

WALL DECO "BLYTHE"

Urban Nature Culture, an Amsterdam-based home and lifestyle brand that shares our commitment to uniting design with sustainability.

This shared vision made them the ideal partner in developing their unique "Blythe" wall panel, crafted from our mycelium based material, PARYCEL and brought to life using NEFFA's pioneering supply chain process.

The wall panel was developed using a specialist covering technique with PARYCEL as the base.

JACK BRANDSMA LIGHT

Interior architect and product designer Jack Brandsma has thoughout his career been fascinated by biomaterials and thier potential in lighting design. This shared passion led to our collabration, where Jack reimagined one of his iconic lighting shades using MYCOTEX and PARYCEL materials, developed through the NEFFA manufacturing process.

The resulting pilot light shades demonstrated the powerful synergy between innovative materials and throughtful design. Jack was particularly intrigued by the translucency of PARYCEL and how the material's natural characteristics could be harnessed and adapted in future design applications.

The light shades where presented in during Milan Design Week in 2025. Learn more at Jack Brandsma

FLORA STOOL

The Flora stool was developed by Marion Duzan and Sara Kele. They designed an entirely new seat surface concept by layering Cocolok with a PARYCEL shell. Cocolok, produced by Enkev, is made from coconut fiber and natural latex, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional foam. The outer shell is made from PARYCEL, a mycelium–cellulose blend developed by NEFFA and applied using their proprietary manufacturing technique.

The stool’s frame is made of turned beech wood, with joints connected using wedges, allowing for easy disassembly. The seat uses leftover material sourced from a children's toy factory, giving new life to industrial surplus.

Their aim was to explore innovative approaches to creating a low-impact chair using sustainable materials, guided by a lifecycle-based design process.

CONCH LIGHT

NEFFA invited Marc Th. van der Voorn to design a lamp entirely made of mycelium. The lamp showcases the potential of MYCOTEX and the potential of the NEFFA supply chain and manufacturing method.

Where the fashion industry likes to have a flexible material, Marc asked for a more sturdy and stiff substance to support the shape of the shell. The recipe has been further developed to reach these requested product specifications.

The light shows three different ways of lighting: direct, through the transparent MYCOTEX material and the light reflection on the wall, giving it its unique appearance when off or on.

The Conch light is ready for production. If you are interested in having this wonderful lamp in your collection, please get in touch.
